The ORT Braude College of Engineering in Karmiel is one of ORT Israel's leading
educational establishments and the most prominent college of engineering in the
Galilee. With over 3,500 students, ORT Braude teaches graduates the necessary skills
required to pursue careers in technology, and works closely with a number of Israeli
biotechnological companies.
At its annual ceremony the Council for a Beautiful Israel honours organisations
which have contributed towards the promotion of environmental awareness and have
significantly improved the quality of life. Participants in the ceremony included
President of the State of Israel, Moshe Katsav; Lt. Gen. (res.) Amnon Lipkin Shahak;
Chairman of the Board of the Council for a Beautiful Israel, Aura Herzog; and
President of ORT Braude, Shmaryahu Rosner.
In accepting the award on behalf of ORT Braude, Shamryahu Rosner said, "It is vital
that students study in aesthetically pleasing surroundings in keeping with the
academic environment of the college. I believe that an educational campus which has
been well cared for increases staff and student motivation."
