Bomb explodes in Netanya; six lightly injured

May 30, 2001—A booby-trapped car exploded Wednesday afternoon opposite the ORT School in the old industrial zone of the coastal city of Netanya. Six people were lightly injured, most of them suffering from shock.

The car that exploded was a white Mazda 323.

Israel Radio reported that the bomb exploded minutes before a school bus was scheduled to arrive in the area. Police have cordoned off the area, and are searching for other explosive devices.

This is the second bomb attack in Netanya in less than two weeks. In a Hamas suicide bombing at a shopping mall in the city twelve days ago, five people were killed. Read ABC news story
