ORT, the Organization for Educational Resources and
Technological Training, is the largest non-governmental
network of vocational education and technological training in the
world.
"ORT America supports a global network of schools and training programs in 58 countries that boast more than 3 million
graduates to date. ORT educates individuals, impacts communities and improves the world. Worldwide Jewish and secular communities
are strengthened in those towns and cities in which ORT programs exist. The cutting edge education acquired at ORT schools,
colleges and international programs provide marketable skills that enable students to attain successful careers, become community
leaders and live with dignity."
ORT America:
- provides financial support and leadership within the global ORT network of schools and programs;
- ensures the continued growth of our post-secondary technical schools and developing technical
resource centers for Jewish students, teachers and community groups in the United States;
- advocates on behalf of quality education, democratic values, human rights and the security of Jewish
communities globally.
Silicon Valley ORT (SVORT) represents WAO in the Greater San Jose,
California, and South Peninsula areas. We have members reaching from San
Jose to San Francisco. We sponsor various activities and fundraisers, including, but not limited to,
monthly movie nights, sales of Entertainment coupon books, and our annual Art for ORT Garden Art Show.
